Finishing up the first floor! Tilers needed!!

Great news; the floors are finished on the first floor, the kitchen is fully functional and we are working on moving to the first floor two rooms until the second story is finished. The floors are beautiful! We are so grateful to King Flooring for their work. We have our couch and table and chairs on the first floor and are ready for visitors this Christmas.

Anyone with experience installing tile would be tremendously appreciated. We need the small mudroom tiled to protect the new hardwood floors since it is the only room on the first floor, besides the bathroom, that is not hardwood floor and is where we will take our shoes off. After the mudroom we have three bathrooms on the second story that need tiling so anyone willing to help will be greatly appreciated!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Blessings,
Cheryl

Current Needs--November 19

Current Needs:
People who can help us even if just for a few hours:
· Painters
· Carpenter
· Plumber
· Mason

· Someone to help fix our driveway and provide more parking spaces

Almost all the drywall is done. Currently we are working on sanding and priming the drywall, to be ready for painting. We could use help painting after November 21, 2009.

Plumber—The plumber has so much work to do and works Saturdays only so anybody who is a plumber and wants to come be a part of a blessed project and work with a fun, great christian man, come join us Saturdays or any time you have, during the week. We need to be hooked up to the new water line from the street, cap off our well water for outdoor use only and then hook up all the faucets and toilets.
Mason-- We need of a mason to fix the brick where windows were installed and the bricks had to be cut.
We also have a need for a window installer to retro fit a new window in an existing bath where there is tile. It is the last window needing to be installed.
Carpenter—We have two landings with roofs and a front porch portico to install, plus deck rails to complete a screened in porch. We will need help installing the hardwood floor towards the end as well.

We are all working every Saturday and guys are usually here during the week. Just give us a call or email me at bengaline@comcast.net , 301-528-8505 to let me know

Updated Progress Report November 11 2009

We got our WSSC Approval for plumbing close in and are finishing electrical work today. Tomorrow am will be electrical, mechanical and framing inspection. We are praying that goes well so that we can start insulating the first floor after approval. The insulation was delivered this morning.

Friday and Saturday, Nov 13 and 14 are drywall installation days. Anyone who wants to come help join the wonderful crew is welcome! Then a crew will do the finishing and someone has volunteered to do the painting via spray gun.

We are hoping to install first floor hardwood floor November 21st and are searching the best way to go about this. Please keep our flooring needs in your prayers; for God's great provision and perfect timing for our first floor flooring.

Thank you!

Nov 1st--Getting ready for drywall

This is a busy week! With God's grace and perfect timing and provision we will have our plumbing, framing and electrical inspection pass and have the first floor insulated by Thursday evening. Friday, November 6th the Waterboyz, wonderful group of christian men, are coming with drywall and tools to install drywall. They will work the 7th as well and come back the following weekend to paint. They are helping us work hard to get the first floor livable while we save up for material to finish the second story. We just might be out of the basement by the end of November! Thank you everyone for all your help; especially the plumbers helping us make it to inspection on such short notice. A few different plumbers have offered to pitch in; this is a big house with a lot of plumbing needs! More later. Meanwhile, keep praying for God's perfect timing and provision so we can start the ministries in His perfect timing. Thanks!

October 18--Hallelujah!

We have a wonderful plumber donating time so we can get our interior plumbing inspection on October 26th! Thank you Waterboyz for finding one for us and THANK YOU J.R. for being so kind.

We need continued prayer that HVAC finishes their work this week, October 19-23rd, so that we can get our framing and mechanical inspection October 27th and then insulate as soon as the inspection is over (and passes). Our goal is to insulate as soon as possible and do the soffits so the rain gutters can be installed and then start the drywall. We need more time or men for the siding installation but the siding is here. Without outside help the siding will have to wait until after the house is buttoned up and drywall finished and first floor painted because we have limited men and our goal is to move upstairs to the first floor by November 16 or 23. We need to be buttoned up as we have no heat now and it is cold!

After that, we need to get the roof on the porch and overhang and install the siding (all material here now). We also need to do trimming for all the first floor and window sills for all the new windows, after we are living ont he first floor. We do not have that material yet.

The Waterboyz are coming in a group November 6 and 7 to get the drywall on the first floor complete and then finished and then a woman's ministry is coming to help paint the first floor so if we pass inspections we will be ready to move upstairs by the 16th most likely, 23rd for sure.

We will save up for trimming and flooring for the second story and finish it as soon as possible so we can move up there and start the ministries! Money is tight and we need more material then we have money for but we have enough to get moved to the first floor.

Meanwhile, we need prayer for no rain so the mason can finish the chimney extension and other brick word needing work. Drywall is being supplied at their cost, thank you Capital Building Supply!

So, we are moving on up (well hopefully by the end of November)! Thank you for all your prayers and support!

Blessings,

Cheryl

Still need Plumbing Help--

October 6th--We got our mason! He is extending our chimney this week and will help with all the loose bricks from the construction; what a blessing! We could really use a plumber for even just a couple hours, to help out our plumber who works on Saturdays. We are trying to get the plumbing inspection in two weeks so we can get closed in and have heat working by the end of November as it is getting colder and we are living in the basement. We can move to the first floor as soon as the plumbing and framing inspection is done and the insulation and drywall is complete.

The next anticipated big construction gathering is October 17th. We are hooking up to the water line this week and will be working on siding and rain gutters and making the windows airtight.

Our big prayer is for a plumber and men to help us so we can move upstairs and we need to raise money for the insulation and drywall. We need prayer for the HVAC company to be able to come finish their work soon so we can get heat working in three weeks or so. Thank you for all your prayers!!

September 23 URGENT NEED!!

We are trying to get the house insulated and drywalled ASAP in advance of winter (we are living in the basement now), and our plumber only works Saturdays. He works hard but has at least four more Saturdays to finish, probably more, so we need help! If anyone has plumbing experience and can put in ANY time, we will accomodate your schedule and you will be such a blessing.

Thank you for checking our needs. A mason from our church is volunteering his time which is a big blessing and the roof is completely installed already! Rain gutters are the next exterior item and others are working on the deck as I type this.

Our House and the Waterboyz continue to help us out and are so appreciated:

Current Status and Volunteer Needs

Updated 9-07-09

People who can help us even if just for a few hours:

  • Carpenter
  • Plumber
  • Mason
  • Someone to help grade the property away from the house

All the internal framing is done. Currently we are working on the electrical, plumbing and HVAC. The plumber has so much work to do and works for us only on Saturdays. Anybody who is a PLUMBER and wants to come be part of a blessed project and work with a fun, great Christian man, come join us anytime you have on Saturdays.

Our House is currently working on the screened in wrap around porch. We are hoping to build the small room above the wrap around porch as soon as possible so it can be ready when the roof installers come and fitted for HVAC and electricity. The shingles will be on in a week or two (waiting to hear about their schedule).

Our goal is to get rain gutters on as soon as possible after the shingles are on since the water is all going to our foundation. After we get the electrical, mechanical and framing inspection we will be ready for insulation and drywall. We still need grading in the back and side of the house since all the work moved the dirt and now water is coming to our foundation.

Anyone who can help us with any of these projects is welcome any time and would be much appreciated! We need a bobcat for the grading and somebody who knows how to use it to grade. A person with carpentry skills that can help build the small room above the deck would really be a help. Any day of the week but Sunday is good. We will need the gables and roof on that room to be ready for shingles when they come install the shingles.

We are desperately in need of a mason to extend the chimney and fix the brick where windows were installed and the bricks had to be cut. I can work with the mason once I am taught what to do as I am home in the day dealing with the construction.

We are all working every Saturday and guys are usually here during the week. Just give us a call or e-mail me at bengaline@comcast.net (301-528-8505).

We also have a need for a window installer if anyone wants to donate some time. There are still some windows that need installing. The remaining windows are installed but need to be airtight and ready for drywall as they were just roughly installed.

Thank you for checking to see if you could help us out in any way!
